BEHIND THE DESIGN

The 'Doux' tee, part of the Sweet Caporal Collection, draws inspiration from an early 1900s French Canadian Sweet Caporal cigarette pack. 'Doux,' meaning 'mild' in French, reflects the cigarette’s smooth and refined qualities, which we've captured in the design. The geometric motif, drawn from one of Sweet Caporal’s early logos, adds a bold graphic element with subtle nods to art deco styling.

COLLECTION

SWEET CAPORAL

Our first collection is inspired by Sweet Caporal Cigarettes, a 19th-century tobacco brand founded by Abbot Kinney. After becoming one of the top U.S. cigarette brands, Kinney used his success to develop Venice, CA in 1905.

The collection combines vintage advertising, bold typography, and unique cultural references. Staying true to Off Abbot’s mission of blending Venice’s rich past with modern streetwear, the pieces subtly nod to Kinney’s lasting impact on the city.
